DAY 1 OF COMP

After a relaxing day watching the juniors climb it was time to move venues and head over to Birkenhead where the bouldering was being hosted.
It was a funky little venue with some rather steep climbing walls. The boulders were all set on the base of the walls and went to about the 4m mark.
There were 5 problems and we all had 5 minutes to attempt each problem as many times as we like… I was fortunate enough to hit most of the moves right and managed to flash all of the problems (2 of which didn’t see another accent).

The top 6 competitors qualified for the finals that are being run tomorrow night after the lead qualification round. I am the only Aussie to make the male bouldering finals so am going to have to go hard and do it for the team!

Time to cook some pasta and rest up for a big day of climbing and bouldering tomorrow!
